The input shaft oil seal is also sealing tightly against the input shaft. Improper removal methods may force the input shaft oil seal into the transmission, resulting in unnecessary repair time. GM-44748 is designed so that the input shaft oil seal can be removed from the transmission without disassembling the unit. The lip of GM-44748 is placed between the seal and the input shaft.
