The pinion bore casting on 9.25" HDCS front axles has no clearance for using a brass drift to remove the pinion bearing cups for service, and the cups should be drawn into place evenly, instead of being driven into place in the aluminum housing. GM-45754 includes a forcing screw, 2 removers, 2 installers, and a receiver. The various components are assembled in turn to remove the outer bearing cup, or to install both the inner and outer bearing cups. Unapproved methods will damage the bearing cups or aluminum housing.
