Two updated adapters, GM-45858-2C and GM-45858-4B, were developed to fit the 8.0" front axles in 2019-newer full-size trucks. These adapters superseded GM-45848-2B and GM-45858-4A, and back-service GMT800, GMT900 and K2XX trucks. Adding them into the current GM-45858-B supersedes the complete kit to GM-45858-C for New Dealer kits and any future purchases. 8.25" axles are side-load, and have no access to drive the pinion bearing cup from the carrier. 8.0" front axle has no clearance to get under the bearing cups in the pinion bore. Components from GM45858-C fit through the pinion bore, and engage the bearing cups to remove and install them. Unapproved methods will damage the carrier or bearing cups.
