The engine and transmission are removed from the bottom of the vehicle when service is required. Current methods of removing powertrain components cannot be used on the 2.0L-T engine in the Cadillac XT4 due to the design of the engine and the materials used. EN‑52055 is a set of adapters designed to be used with the GM-52200 Propulsion System Lift Table.
EN‑52055 adapters, along with the additional mounting adapter EN‑52055-150 (sold separately), enable the engine and transmission to be mounted onto GM-52200 for removal and installation from the vehicle. They also support these components separately, allowing them to be separated using the sliding section of GE‑52200 if necessary.
When used together, the adapters included in GM-52055 and GM-52055-150 allow the new 2.0L-T and 9-speed transmission to be mounted to GM-52200 in a safe and secure manner. Failure to use GM-52055, GM-52055‑150, and GM-52200 on this and future GM vehicles will result in component damage.
