GM engines require an adapter to attach the engine to the engine support fixture for service. Engine-specific (or platform-specific) adapters are typically removed at the assembly plant once the engine is installed. Current universal engine mount brackets GM-36857 have a 5/8” (15.9 mm) mounting hole, which is too large for the fasteners on newer 3.0L and 3.6L HF V6 engines.
Most HF V6 engines use M10 fasteners on the engine block to attach the engine support brackets. GM-52059 consists of three M10 shoulder bolts, designed to work with GM-36857 to safely support the engine.
Each shoulder bolt of GM-52059 can be used in a different location to provide a safe contact point for attaching the engine support fixture. These shoulder bolts center the GM-36857 brackets to mount them to the engine, while still allowing for movement to adjust them for optimal lifting and supporting positions.
