GM-51578 is a set of six header connectors with looped circuits and one harness connector with looped circuits, allowing for the systematic elimination and bypassing of individual modules on the Media Oriented Systems Transport (MOST 50) bus. As modules are eliminated, the bus Electronic Control Line (wakeup signal) can also be monitored and analyzed. If the DTC goes away, then the bypassed module is at fault. If two adjacent modules on the bus are bypassed without a change in the infotainment symptom/DTC U0028 status, then the wires and connectors would require further analysis and repair. These header bypass connectors would be used in conjunction with the Radio DTC U0028/Data Display for root cause analysis. Without these tools, the technician may cause terminal damage or fail to use the proper twisted pair wire when attempting a manual jumper bypass.
