The
front output shaft on 15MY 31xxN NQ6/NQ7 transfer cases features a male-spine design, incorporating a front output flange. The output shaft seal is
press fit to both the front output shaft OD and the case housing ID, while
also maintaining the flush alignment between the inner and outer parts of the
2-piece cassette-style seal.
The seal function and lifespan will be impacted if it is improperly installed. The ID
bore of GM-51592 pilots over the front output shaft splines to ensure proper
alignment of the seal into the bore while installing the two-piece seal to the shaft and case bore at the same time. Using unapproved methods will not ensure the seal is installed correctly and may result in leaks. |
