A new design two-piece front output shaft seal and new slinger (dust shield) have been introduced for heavy duty and super heavy duty (Magna NQF / NQG) transfer cases. The new design seal has a different installation depth (for inner portion of the seal) than do the previous New Venture Gear transfer case applications. The previous seal was installed with the inner portion of the seal below flush, using GM-43484. The new design seal must be installed with both portions of the seal installed flush to prevent seal damage. The new seal and slinger will be implemented to back service for all Magna transfer cases (RPOs-NQF / NQG / NQH / NP0) back to 2007MY, and is planned for use on all future light duty and heavy duty applications. GM-50649 installs the seal correctly, and also installs the new slinger onto the output shaft. GM-50649 is anodized blue to differentiate it from GM-43484, which is natural aluminum in color.
