It is critical that the seal on the 1-2-3-4 piston not be damaged as the piston is installed into the bore. Any nicks or cuts will affect clutch apply and transaxle function of the 6T40. GM-47798 allows the piston to slide smoothly over the retaining ring grooves and into the correct position.
