GM-47800 consists of two precision-ground gauging tools that allow bearing preloads to be set for the transfer axis and differential axis while the 6T70 transaxle is apart for unit repair. The gauging tools fit inside the transaxle between the case and the torque converter housing. Stand-off rods separate the components, and special feeler gauges are inserted into the spring-loaded gauges to determine which thickness of selective thrust washer to use for correct bearing preload.
