T-48903 is used in a hydraulic press to push on the low clutch sprag assembly and compress the low/reverse clutch spring, facilitating the removal of the clutch spring retaining ring. The low/reverse clutch can then be disassembled for overhaul. The tool is again used to compress the spring and reinstall the retaining ring once the clutch has been serviced and reassembled, used with GM-49296-1 and -2 during installation of the retaining ring.
