GM-51672 installs the manual shift shaft seal squarely into the case bore without damage to the sealing lip. The tool features a counterbore that enables the seal to be installed while the manual shaft is still in place within the transmission. This tool and procedure can be performed on a vehicle. This eliminates the need to remove the transmission to replace the seal.
