Four tapered bearing cups in the AF50-8 transmission must be removed and installed during unit repair procedures, two in the torque converter housing and two in the transmission case. GM-51918 has multiple steps and diameters to allow for the installation of all four bearing cups and contacts each cup on its top edge so the cup micro-finish tapered contact surface for the bearing rollers is not damaged.
