GM-52087 is used to align the spacer plate to the solenoid body. The tool consists of two pins that fit through the spacer plate and into the dowel pin holes in the solenoid body. Once the plate is aligned, two screws are tightened to hold the plate in place while the assembly is installed on the transmission. Alignment of the plate ensures that the oil pressure passages align with the channel plate holes.
