Beginning in 2016, fuel systems on some GM vehicles featured a digital S.E.N.T. (Single Edge Nibble Transmission) fuel rail pressure sensor, and SENT technology has become more prevalent in GM models launched after 2016. GM-47976-507 is an add-on connector adapter featuring molded-in internal active circuits and an internal signal conversion processor, enabling the GM-47976 AFIT SIDI Adapter Cables to function and test injectors and the fuel system in vehicles equipped with the SENT system.
The GM-47976-507 Adapter is permanently attached to the GM-47976-506 AFIT DMU and converts the fuel pressure digital signal coming from the SENT sensor into an analog signal, which the AFIT can interpret and use for fuel system performance analysis and test results. Once the SENT Adapter is connected to the DMU, the DMU remains compatible with both SENT and non-SENT fuel pressure sensors, allowing it to stay connected permanently.
