GM-47976-514 is a three-connector Cable that allows injector and fuel system diagnosis with the GM-47976 Active Fuel Injector Tester (AFIT) on vehicles featuring the new E88 controller. The Cable attaches to the previously essential GM-47976-507 SENT Adapter Module, which connects to the previously essential GM-47976-500A AFIT SIDI DMU. Prior AFIT SIDI controllers have two or three connectors with 73 pins. The E88 controller features one 73-pin connector and two 49-pin connectors, making none of the previously essential SIDI cables compatible with it. For correct communication with injectors and the fuel pump, and accurate testing and diagnostic results, GM-47976-514 G6 Cable must be used.
The GM-47976 AFIT is a previously essential tool for GM tier 1,2,3,4 dealers in the USA and all dealers in Canada. The AFIT was originally launched to dealers in 2006 to address two current issues at that time: improve the accuracy of diagnostics for the new AFIM (Air Fuel Imbalance Monitor) system due to increasing CARB requirements, and improve the accuracy of current service procedures to reduce misdiagnoses of current fuel systems to eliminate needless replacement of injectors that upon bench testing and analysis were found to be good
