The cradle used on the Volt is made of aluminum, and the cradle bushing features a plastic body. In contrast, the Gen II Cruze cradle is made of steel, with a steel-cased bushing.  The bushing tool initially specified for Gen I Cruze (GM-51404-EU) does not fit the Volt cradle or bushing, and can damage the bushing if used for installing it.  The bushing must be indexed and has a tapered wall thickness from top left to bottom right.  Two protruding bumps on the bushing body aid the bushing indexing.  Two alignment protrusions must be seated into the notched areas in the cradle body to ensure proper alignment.

GM-51999-A includes a driver, receiver, and bushing guide to ensure the bushing is installed correctly for the designed ride characteristics and in the correct position.
