Description
When a pick-up box is removed and kept on the main component it makes collision work and other repairs much easier. Because of the length and weight of a pick-up box, when it is on the lift it has a little bounce at the front of the box when pushed up and down. When an operator is changing out a box side or performing collision work, the stabilizer bar is placed under the front of the box and then the box is lowered just enough to put a little frontward pressure from the box on the stabilizer bar. This reduces any bounce from the box and allows the operator to perform repairs with the box holding steady. Most shops prefer to repair the pick-up box while it sits stable on the lift compared to using saw horses or blocks.
